Through the 3D map and the suggested routes, visitors can discover the rich history of the city of Nafplio. The selected route will be automatically displayed on the map, and the points of interest along the way will be indicated, accompanied by a descriptive text and photographs. Starting from the Staikopoulos Park, four alternative routes can be followed.
The first climbs up and crosses the road of the Akronaflia Castle, with the final stop being the Castle of the Bulls. From there, it descends the steps to approach the Catholic Church of the Transfiguration of the Saviour, or Frankoklisia. Finally, crossing the narrow streets of the old city, it ends in the district of Psaromachalas and the Bastion of the Five Brothers.
The second route reaches the castle by climbing the stairs of Palamidi.
The third route starts at the parks and squares of the so-called historical centre, i.e. from Nikitaras Square, OSE Park, Kolokotronis Park, Kapodistrias Park, and the Three Admirals Square. Following the ‘Megalo Dromo’ (Great Road), the route passes through the historical Syntagma (Constitution) Square, and ends at the Church of Agios Spyridon.
The fourth route crosses the historical settlement of Pronoia. The first stop is the Church of Agios Ioannis Theologos, then continuing towards the Agia Triada Church, the historical National Assembly Square, the Church of Agioi Pantes, the Lion of Bavaria, and the Evangelistria Church.
